If you can get directions from Google Maps in India, and your device is running Android 1.6 or later, then it will work.

Has anyone had any luck with navigation in uk? I have a non-rooted magic and when I run nav launcher, enter a destination, click navigate then after loading it saw no route is available for this destination.

Am I doing something wrong? normal routes work In maps for the destinations.

Thanks
Richard

Hi,

I have a Rogers Magic, 32A with Cyanogen 4.2.5.

I was able to install navigation using these instructions, so thank you. But curiously, when running the commands via adb, I received "Failure" on step 2. I was only successful when running the commands like this (step 3, then step 2 according to above).

Code: Select all
adb remount
adb shell find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name Maps.apk "|" xargs rm
adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

I'm not familiar enough with adb/shell to speak more to it than that, but it succeeded anyway, and it's awesome.

Thanks!

Well, I'm having the same problem.

I'm using a HTC G1 T-Mobile "unlocked" with Android 1.6, no mods and no root access.

I have the new Google Maps version downloaded from the Market, with layer and other news. And the Google Maps app works fine do give me routes.

I have the SpeechSynthesis and the NavLauncher apps installed from the market, both working fine.

But, when the NavLauncher launches the Google Navitagion I'm getting the message:
No route found
Navigation to your destination is not available

If I open the Google Maps and try to route to the same address I have no problems.

I uninstalled the Google Maps update and NavLauncher and installed all over again, but its not working.

Any tips?

Tks

If you're outside of the United States, you need the MODIFIED version of Google Maps, which you cannot get from the market. Uninstall Google Maps, then try to use Nav Launcher, and it will install the modified version for you.

They set up us the bomb!

Looks like Google broke navigation for all of us outside the US, even Canada  ... awaiting your response :(

Edit: I believe the "Navigation to your destination is not available" error occurs when Navigation checks your current location and sees that you are not in the US.
