Looks like Google broke navigation for all of us outside the US, even Canada  ... awaiting your response :(

Edit: I believe the "Navigation to your destination is not available" error occurs when Navigation checks your current location and sees that you are not in the US.

It looks like they're doing server-side checks now. There may be a way around it, but it will take some time.

I managed to install the hacked Maps 3.2.1 and the SpeechSynth and Nav Launcher, but any address I enter I always get "No Route Found, Navigation to your destination is not available" , I am in New Zealand, have I missed something, or is it the case that there isnt navigation for here yet, ? Any help would be appreciated

p.s. It's NOT a rooted phone, and is actually a Vodafone UK model (if that has any bearing on it)

Looking further it appears that I can't uninstall Google maps to put the new 3.2.1 maps on. How do I uninstall it on a NON rooted phone.

As was discussed in the post immediately above yours, it no longer works outside the USA.

It's not just a matter of patching the client. Google made some server-side changes so it won't give out directions if you're outside the USA. It may be possible to develop a proxy that will mask requests, but it will take some time.

Hi,

I'm not a pro about all this, but if it can help, I found an application on the market which is basically a very bad version of navlauncher with googlemaps navigator. The thing is it still works fine outside the USA. Its name is "gNavHelper 1.5 (free trial)".

Please bear in mind it's nothing compared to what navlauncher was, and absolutely not an ad: the map is very small, always north-oriented, the text to speech app does not always work, the language can't be changed... But still, it seems connected to gmaps and it can find a route. So if you think you can study it, or if it can be useful to you in any way, help yourself :)

It sounds similar to what xGPS is on the iPhone, and if that's the case, it's not quite what we want. I'll check it out later, but there are a few people working on getting the real Navigation app working again.

Navigation works again outside the USA. It's not fully functional (you won't see the current street name or the arrows), but it gets the job done. Nav Launcher has been updated to support automatic installation of the modified 3.3.1.

Hi

Do you happen to know why the modded version of 3.3.1 doesn't give out speech instructions properly (I might get two or three directions in an hour long journey) ?
